1st Grade Assessments
2016-2017 Criterion Reference Test (CRT) – This assessment measures a student’s progress toward proficiency for each common core standard required of 1st grade. This assessment is administered in September, December and April of the school year.
Dibels – This assessment measures progress in the areas of letter naming fluency, phonemic sound fluency, word use fluency, and oral reading fluency. This assessment is given at the beginning of the year for a base score, and then progress in these areas is monitored every two weeks for the duration of the school year. Performance Tasks – This is a common assessment administered to students weekly as needed to measure student performance in academic areas of math and literacy - Common Core Standard/Skills. Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) – This is a norm reference test given in April to determine how the students perform on grade level skills in the state and nation as a whole compared to other 1st graders. Renaissance STAR – The STAR test is used as a tool for our Accelerated Reading program as an indicator to determine what level /range that the student is prepared to read. We administer this assessment on the computer in the Fall, mid-year, and then again at the end of the school year. Development Reading Assessment (DRA) – This is an individually administered assessment of a child’s reading capabilities. (Reading level, fluency, accuracy, and comprehension) Developmental Spelling Analysis (DSA) – This assessment identifies the developmental stage of spelling for the student. AR Rapid Naming Screener – Analysis of rapid naming skills. State Mandated- There will be a state mandated assessment to be announced at a later date. |
